skyjack scissor lift speed.....

anyone know how to make a skyjack scissor lift move any faster im sure it has somthing to do w/ the hydraulic pressure but im not sure where to start, it reaches up to about 30' i think. Its got the rabbit and turtle speeds but none the less fully charged....in rabbit it wont move very fast im not lookin to haul ace w/ it but get it to move a lil faster, tips tricks anyone?

pressure is force, flow is speed.

Basically, unless you can raise the flow rate of the pumps, thereby increasing pressure at the drive motors as a by-product of increased resistance to increased flow... you aren't going to make it any faster.

On the lift cylinders, reducing the volume of the cylinders would allow for faster filling, making the trip skyward faster.

These tips come with a disclaimer attached. These machines are designed a certain way, for a reason. You aren't lifting merchandise, you are lifting souls, and souls are not to be played with. Exceeding the design parameters of a scissor, or other manlift, can cause catastrophic failure, which, in manlift terms equals "dead".

Otherwise, good luck with it.

Does it run faster when fully lowered? A noticeable slowdown as it raises a bit?

when its boomed all the way up it crawls which is a good thing, but when its lowered down all the way it moves id say @ almost half the speed as the other skyjack lifts we have, and thats no joke, ive made sure to charge it up before i leave from work i check the water level on the batteries often etc etc etc, theres no hydraulic leaks.

I would NOT mess with a rental companys junk. Call them to fix it. Remind them other units are preforming MUCH better and you can vote with your dollars if they cannot satisfy you

Yes there is an adjustment for both speeds (up and down) the last one I was on the nice service guy set them to my comfort level.

^^^^x2^^^^.

If you mess with it, and ANYONE gets hurt including yourself, you will be liable-in both $$ and maybe your job

FWIW, the slow speed issue may be a sign that something is wrong. I have seen sensors, that, when working properly slow you down when raised, fail and revert to high speed when the lift is up
