Mornin all, more rain here for today. Flood watch in effect.
Might have to go to the garage and find something to do.
Excavator is fixed, flushed fuel tank and new filters.
Should be ok for a while.
Wifey is at work, donuts are on the counter.

<sigh> 'Skuttlecrud' again. Just when things were getting back to normal again too. Oh well, some people just aren't trainable I guess!

's on. Fresh too!

Gotta go to Tractor Supply and pick up a gate I ordered a month ago because they didn't have it in stock. Just a plain old farm gate too, nuthin' special. Seems like everytime I go there, that's the story. Their theme is 'The stuff you need out here'. I don't think they completed that thought tho... it should be, 'The stuff you need out here, is never at Tractor Supply'!

Everyone have a great Sunday!

The last time I was at TC they called me a lier for not leaving a battery in exchange for a new one. I had dropped it off in the back. Since it costs you $10 to take a battery to the dump, and the garbage guys will not take them why would anyone NOT want to trade in a battery for free?

Wind picked up last night, dust storm warning, but just got a light dusting of dust on the truck, with a sprinkle of rain. Layer of instant mud on the truck again.
Have to redo the water system on the potted citrus trees, keeps comming apart. and replace a hose on the hose reel. It the heat it split. Been eating the grapefruits.

PHEW! [COLOR=Blue] Rowing through the to get here!! can't even eat the doughnuts, or biscuits N gravy........

Son (pictured in Avatar) graduates today- where did the time go?
I think he will do alright; he checks to see if the grass is mowed correctly.
He can cook (just lazy), do laundry and iron. When his room gets nuclear, he cleans it. What else can a mother ask for???!!

Tractor Supply/Central Tractor folks called. They want to keep the big mustachioed welder/logger (Chaikwa ) away from playing with his new big truck. SHHHHHHH! It's a secret- send him on any errand to accomplish this task! I recall a need for a left-handed smoke shifter.........

Hi gang,

Got back from Mickey land about 1 today - - looks like everything is normal here - - rowing thru the coffee, eh. Yep, normal.

Came home to some excitement. Sis in law car was in the drive - - neighbor called her. Alarm had been screaming for about an hour. Tried to get it off - - no way, trouble light on. But, no fire or police there, so figured phones lines were down. Wondered what all the debris was in the drive and all over the Ghost when I came in. Lightning had hit the palm tree at noon right beside Ghost. Blew palm branches and debris all over the place. Came out at the base leaving a big hole. Into the ground at my 12v lighting and blew this light and the one beside it into pieces. Went to the front of the house and the timer is blown across the yard and the outlet is nowhere to be seen - - just a big hole where it had been. Cable out, security system out, phone junction box blown to pieces, BRAND NEW COMPUTER WON'T START, 2 tvs not running, sprinkler system timer in pieces all over the garage and several holes in yard with little pieces of thin wall pvc in the holes - - looks like the sprinkler system took a major hit. This is going to be fun. And I wanted to cut out of here next week for three months. Guess no way, Jose.

Oh well, maybe I would have killed myself if I left on time. It all works out.

See ya tomorrow.

Bob

Geez 5er, I thought you lived in paradise. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope insurance covers it. Sounds like you took a direct hit.

(I think Scotty had something to do with this. )

Geez Bob, it could be even worse. If you were home I expect the speedo's would have been ruined.

Glad nobody got hurt, and good luck getting it fixed.

Bob, be glad you were not there when it hit. If you have home owners insurance they should take care of it. Replace all the damaged equipment. If the insurance company gives you a bad time, hire a private adjuster.
No one was injured, stuff can be replace.
Next time your in church throw an extra buck in the plate.

'Normal' 30 minute commute took 1 1/2 hours due to closed roads.
Over 5 inches of rain fell last night, with more in today & tomorrow's forecast.
Roads closed all over the area, including several 2 and 3 lane highways, and the DC beltway was even closed for about 8 hours.
Hope evening rush hour goes better.......

Got to watch the Noisy Neighbors Circus last night as they attempted to stay ahead of the rising waters in their basement.
When their landloard rented them the house, there was a clause that stated that the basement was for storage ONLY and was AS IS.
Clogged rain gutters and leaky basement foundation walls are NOT a good combination when the rain is falling in sheets.
They must not have believed him, and a couple of folks were apparently using the basement as bedroom space.
