I still remember all the "CORRECTIVE ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENTS" I had gotten in my younger years. Mom was the first one to nail you. Didn't want POPS to get after you. Both are gone, but after all these years. By God I still repect them...Wrong is wrong. And you have to be taught that. Its not learned.

Has anyone else had this experience---The older you get the smarter your parents get???? It's kinda like the bumper sticker you see sometimes that says, "Hire a teenager while they still know it all".

I thought I knew it all when I was 16. Now I call the old man up and tell him he was right and I was the dummy. I guess that was testosterone does to the brain.

Seems to me that not that long there was an item on the news because some parent got in trouble for washing their kids mouth out with soap. Don't remember all the details but I think the parent had to go to court for child abuse. I maintain that it is child abuse for NOT teaching your kids right from wrong, even if it entails washing their mouth out with soap.
I remember once when I was 'abused' by my mother. She caught me at about the age of 7 smoking somebodies cast of cigarette butt. She immediately forced me to sit down and in front of her, smoke a complete cigarette AND inhale. Boy-o-boy, was I green and sick. Never went near a cigarette again. Today she would probably be in jail and I would be in a foster home.

Your Mother was very smart. I didn't require that to never start smoking, but it would probably have helped for some of my friends...who regret it bigtime that they had to be "cool" when they were 17, now at 37, they only wish they could quit.

AMEN back to you Brothers........ Make your NO mean no.. I'd like to see how many of these YOUNGSTERS, have ever had a belt taken to them. Forget the belt, even told NO. I think in MY generation, we have all failed in one way or another. Don't get me wrong. Our girls have 110% respect for Pam and I. We took the time to be part of their lives. Not just dropping their butts off at daycare on the way to work. Do YOU know where your children are tonight? You bet we do....Its been proven that most young adults brains don't start to fully develope untill about age 25.......Hmmmmm. Interesting, isn't it.
