School Warning!
Ok, just got off the phone with my ex wife and she told me our son was telling her yesterday about this little thing that is going on in his school and he is a part of! I am so friggen

it isn't funny.
Here is the scoop- The kids are calling it "bodies" At least 3 are involved. 1 watches the bathroom door (look out) and 2 are in the bathroom beating the crap out of one another until both kids say stop. Then they go about their business. To me this is a pre-lude to gang violence hence today is his last day of school and home shooling is starting tomorrow! I called the school and talked with the counselor and informed him what is happening and he was floored! He agrees with me about the prelude to gang violence. I am just glad my son has the sack to talk to us about things like this or we would have never known until it was too late.
I URGE ALL OF YOU PARENTS to talk to your kids about this and other things that can or are happening in schools these days! Be a part of their lives before it is too late and God forbid visiting them in jail for something that they should not have been doing. Not saying that your kids will go to jail but it is the prelude to other things and illegal activites.
God Bless all of you and off rant

Sounds like children of the parents that show their kids you only get in trouble if you get caught instead of the difference in right and wrong. Parents need to lead by example and put the fear of god in their children, hindsight of the grown up children will be thankful for having "strict" parents in their younger years. I know I am.

You and me both BigE. I remember my ol man whoopin my tail when i screwed up then he sat me down and said "this is wrong" and "this is right". i am sure glad he did and I am doing the same with my son. there are a lot of influential creeps at the schools these days and it is getting out of hand. goes hand in hand with the current administration

I very well remember the chalk board pointer being wielded by the headmaster and being used to 'correct' my bad behavior in school and also the wooden spoon and the fly swatter my mother used. Boy, they sure hurt at the time, but it did more good than harm in the long run. Too bad it is 'politically incorrect' to use those training methods any longer. I say bring them back and our kids will be better off for it.
If the truth were told, I probably deserved a lot more 'training'.

just don't laugh when mom breaks a wooden spoon over your tail and then she said "just wait til your dad gets home" I was dead meat.. I look back and wonder but I deserved it and a better man for it. Not a criminal, don't do drugs, don't really drink, work my butt off, accountable for my actions!

I remember in junior high the principle had the wooden paddle hanging on his wall and was ALLOWED to use it! (and did) I came very close one time to getting it but was lucky and avoided it. After a few threats from him I and many others were basically scared straight and there was very little bad behavior. We knew better.
I would fully agree to bringing this back to the school system today.

I sure got it a few times!! 3rd grade teacher Mr. Waite sure did like to use it (it seemed that way! LOL).. I flipped off 4th grade math teacher and out in the hall and grab your ankles Brahs! **** it I got it again!
My (former) girlfriend worked for three months for a "Rorgy's Learning Center" here in town. They are a pre-K school, and have a K=1st grade too. During the interview, nothing was mentioned, however once she started training, they told her "The Law." The Law was that she could never Under Any Circumstances say the word NO to a child for any reason!
It wouldn't matter how despirate I was for a job, If I heard that, I would have walked flately out the door - no questions asked or answered! That's no way to try and raise a kid - "Positive reinforcement only." I agree with positive reinforcement, to a point. But after that, there needs to be a deep-seeded understanding that "No means NO." Politically incorrect as it may be.

Constant positive reinforcement has serious repercussions. The kid never knows what is right and what is wrong. Does not know the facts about accountability and doing the time for your actions (small or large and not meaning jail but a punishment of some sorts). It is this “we all win and get a trophy” politically correctness BS.
Some of the stuff I've seen lately, it seems to me that some of the problem might be parents don't act like parents anymore. Shuffle the kids off to school then when they come home it's supper time then the kids head to their room. No quality FAMILY time. Some parents blame the schools for their kids behavior and the schools blame the parents. When my Dad and Mom spoke I learned to listen and like was said before, the words I hated to hear----"Wait till you Dad comes home"!
