Yup. That's why it's a SHOP. He knows how to leave if it gets too thick. Didn't happen today anyway. Not tomorrow either by the looks of it.

REAL truck drivers try to keep their head in a forward facing direction in order to facilitate keeping their attention on the road. Peripheral vision is essential for checking mirrors for rear and side traffic without turning the head any more than absolutely needed. Turning your head a LOT to see in your mirrors is only acceptable when backing up. There is talk now about banning the use of dash mounted GPS's in CMV's to cut out the distraction factor from the road. I always ask the question about banning CB radios if they're going to go that far, but I have yet to receive an answer.

30 yard load of asphalt millings showed up this afternoon, so that ended any possibility of working on the processor. Filled in the wood boiler trench and started on the holes in the driveway. Try to finish it tomorrow. Got to get them placed before the pile turns hard as cement.

Wow, what a quiet day in the breakroom. Did someone drop an air-biscuit or something?? DW and I survived a trip to the city tonite. We even managed to get home before the bad weather got here. We drove through fog and a wee bit of blowing snow on the way home.
Since interest in this breakroom seems to be waning, we might as well bonk it on the head. I swept up all the shrew droppings (when is Bark back from his trip??), the coffee and pH00 are ready for the morning, in the fridge there are a few pounds of breakfast sausage from JWBM waiting to be fried for breakfast and I cut up an entire skillet load of hashbrowns. Would whomever is up first please throw it all in the pan with a few eggs and some hot-sauce.

Play safe all y'all, wear appropriate PPE and I will see everyone in the new breakroom.

Sorry to leave you so lonely. Had a bit of a busy day.

The Youngest son's been screwing around trying to get a decent deer for about 4 years. Lotsa excuses, like boys round in 30-06 hit the ground about 20 feet in front of the deer, and last year the deer got tired of the stand rattling when he was shaking with buck fever and left.

So today I loaned him the 20 gauge pump and some Hornady sabot slugs and put him on the old wooden stand, which usually has some action. Exactly 1 minute into deer season, he bagged this 8 pointer. The single shot destroyed the heart. We figure it's 170 to 180 lbs.

I bagged bambette on the way to my stand this evening, so we now have 2 deer averaging about 100 lbs.

Got em all hanging, got caught up with 2 weeks of church sound files and uploaded them. Can't find anything to eat here, so I guess I'll take a shower and hit the hay hungry.

Going to hunt a bit in the morning, at least till Bobby chases me out of the stand and sends me to church.

Weaning calves this week. Amazing how well they are working. Haven't been kicked yet. Tried something different taking them off the trailers to sort off replacements, worked, but the last one off before lunch decide to try a burn-out/wheelie off the back of the trailer while I was behind her. They are pretty laid-back, can walk up and put your hand on their back and push them where you want them.

Should be another week and a half to get corn finished.

Talk of a class reunion next summer. If I get back east with Springer and his neighbor I should be able to make it. You can buy 3 Amtrack tickets for about 1 1/2 times the cost of one ticket for the same trip.

Oh, did I mention that that was on the trailer with the plastic (non-leaky) floor, that's had cattle in it on just about every trip it's made?
