The leaves are turning
The days grow short
The suns warmth shall soon depart
A rustle of leaves
Not in the trees
Signals a harvest pushed to extremes
For down below
To and fro
The shrews are preparing
Yet another winter
And they will endure
And dream of spring to come

Dang. That was actually very good.
People who are not from the Northern areas may not understand that there is something that you can feel when our days suddenly start to get shorter.
Its like the air has gotten heavier.
You try and finish the things needed to get through the coming winter.

Hi, I'm one of the Shrewple that moved into Scotty's house. We need out fast. This place is crazy about LEGGS. We have our own recliners and a flat screen.
Only thing we are missing is some fur from the blow torch game Scotty invented.

Please help.

I have done worse when I was bored.

The blowtorch game is probably a lot of fun when its dark.

And light it on fire, too!

Just like some people back in Pennsylvania, who dumped some gas in the rat holes under the corn crib, then lit it.

Right beside the barn.

Me thinks your pet shrews were watching that as well, now they have some really killer ideas.

Hmmmm, you could be right. They may be pretty smart.
Last year we found one who had crawled into the condenser assembly of the refrigerator.
I believe that they were trying to use the electromagnetic field of the motor to alter their DNA to create bigger stronger shrews.
My wife says they are just stupid and isn't prepared for the takeover. People like her will be the first ones they get.
I can still hear them talking at night. Its kind of scary.

I saw a shrew today, in the shrubby little island they put in the parking lots at Lowe's. It looked like the hairless version, similar to a lizard.
