The rise and fall of auto dealers

Years back you dealt a a local dealership that was family owned, the person selling you the car was the owner or his son or son in law who used to be a mechanic till he married the the bosses daughter. You went in and ordered a car and waited with excitement till it came in.If you had undue trouble the owner made it right and the dealership built custmore loalty. When your son was ready to buy a car you interdouced him to the owner or he already knew him from dads dealings. Then the car companies thought the dealerships should get large, stock 100,s of cars some slimey salesman ,an even slimier sales manager. Then in the shop they had a service rep. who was only good at selling you service you did not need and never fixed the problem you had.You used to talk to the mechanic so he knew what the problem was.
And now they are dying a painfull death.
