Repossessors

Has anyone ever seen this show? My brother and I like watching and were wondering what it would cost to start our own repossession business. Now I already have the truck to get started because I have seen like hydrolic lifts that go on the back of your pickups and it turns it into a wrecker. I am wondering where do you get these lifts and how much are they?

Re:Repossessors

Watched 3 episodes on TV tonight and me and my wife laughed our butts off. They had the thing on the back that they just backed up to the vehicle, it clamped the tires, raised it up and GONE, most of the time in less than 20 seconds . Did you see BUBBA and his one tooth

Also see http://amos.catalogcity.com/cc.class...4&ccsyn=22 for a less stealthy and more easily installed unit.

Re:Repossessors

Been there and done that...actually several times and most recent was a Ferd last month.
I arrived at the house, walked up to the door and offered to take their truck. Was met with a few choice words and an 1187.
I told them I would not need the shotgun to open the door...just the keys please. The guy laughed, handed me the keys and put the gun away.

;D

Worst repo I ever had was a school bus on an Indian Reservation...try being stealth and quick in that big Yellow Magnet! No kids were involved. Cept for me.

Re:Repossessors

I've done a few--no schoolbuses, though. Buddy of mine used to work for one of those "we finance anyone" car lots--and they really did. We'd roll up quiet, coasting with the headlights out, and take a look around to see if it looked clear. We usually had the keys, but every once in a while we'd have to pop the locks and hotwire. Big adrenaline rush, that's for sure.

Re:Repossessors

Is the name of this show Repo Men by any chance? I love that show, but I have only seen one episode 3 times. Is there a regular schedule for this show? If so, what is it? I'd love to see other episodes.

Re:Repossessors

Actually, the very first Ram 3500 SRW I saw on the street was set up for repo's and I almost didn't catch it. It was a while 4x4 and I noticed that it had parked right in from of me while I was in the movies. It didn't look like it was modified at all untill I noticed TWO 2" square recievers side by side in the rear. After a closer inspection I realized that it was a VERY well hidden wheel lift. NOTHING protruding in the bed, no lights, nothing. Just looked like a weird 2" reciever hitch that was the full width of the bumper.

Re:Repossessors

Yes I saw Bubba this evening!! 8)
The best was the guy who has a speed boat repossed. They unhooked the trailer from the guys truck too. Then I saw a 40ft yacht being repoed. This was a different episode though.
