Latest plans ive herd were to relocate them to indian reservations ,where there is a shortage of housing . Sounds like a move they would make ,SHIFT THE PROBLEM FROM ONE AREA TO A DIFFRENT AREA!!!!!!! I THINK ITS CALLED THE SHUFFLE!!!

Claude
It itatates me that rather than take responsibility they just try to shift it some where else !

why in gods name dont they stop the camper people from putting the crap in the trailers in the first place. FEMA is the biggest joke in the world. i refuse to do FEMA work for people when im in florida cause i know i wont get paid. moving them to indian reservations seems like a really bright idea, didnt we already do this kind of thing once to them *cough* poisioned blankets *cough*.

they aint any different, except they are using inferior materials made in other countries, and US manufactures dont care what the outcome is, they just want their money.

Its a good thing these companys that made them wern`t making a lot of $$$$ on them !!!!
Acording to the report i read they cost an adverage of $15,000 each.
[B]WHY AS TAX-PAYERS CANT WE GO TO COURT AND MAKE THESE COMPANYS CORRECT THE SITUATION ?
iF I OWNED A COMPANY THAT BUILT THESE ,I WOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE
GUESS I`DE BETTER SHUT UP BEFORE SOME ONE THINKS IT`S POLITICAL IN NATURE.

I seriously doubt that there is a significant problem. These people just like to complain and they know if they yell they can get attention and more money. I live in a 5th wheel and I have bad allergies but it's from the outside air and not the materials of the trailer. These trailers are built from mostly the same stuff that regular houses are built from except for the sheet rock and other heavy stuff. This is just mass hysteria promoted by sympathetic news hounds who need something to put on TV for the 10:00 news.

There isn't a good solution . Shipping all these back to the manufacturer would just result in the manufacturer filing bankruptcy . Disposing of the trailers would probably require expensive special disposal at a hazmat site .

If these people don't like they're living conditions, than they should get off of the butts and do something about it. Instead of asking us (taxpayers) for more, they should get up get out and find some sort of work. I'm so tired of these people getting hand outs while I work my tail off for what I got. If I offend someone you have my apologies, but these people need to step up and start fixing their own problems instead of asking for more handouts. If living in a trailer long term is bad than why do people keep them for so long as recreation vehicles? If they are emitting bad chemicals and other stuff with people in them, wouldn't they do the same while sitting in storage waiting to be used?

I live on the gulf coast Pascagoula to be exact and I lost my house to Katrina . I refused any and all help from FEMA. I knew the less I had to deal with the GOV the better off my family would be in the long run. The people that are still in these trailers totally rely on welfare and will never get off there butts and do anything not as long as the GOV keeps them fat and dry anyway......
I have been in one of those $15000 trailers and $5000 would be paying to much imo. All particle board, vinyl floors, plastic everything, cheap cheap cheap. Would make a good weekend hunting camp thats about it...

I commend you on doing what you needed to do to take care of your family. I am also sorry for your lost after Katrina. It's the people like you that prove that there are some gooduns left.

Thanks Chad, The first two nights afterwards I slept in a horse trailer and my wife and son slept on a pallet in the First Baptist Church, it really put things into perspective. We went 70 miles north and rented a small place, thankfully I had my CTD and was able to make money pulling debris trailers until the plant got back up. Everything worked out and we are stronger because of it.
