Propane Weedeater????

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...criptionAnchor

I'm needing a new one and this is a cool concept. Don't really know about the quality but if the price would come down I would get one. What do ya'll think?

Propane is great. 107 octane, engines are still clean inside even after 200,000 miles.
You would definitely want the hose kit to refill those small canisters from a 20 lb cylinder, as that size canister is a bit pricey.

That's cool, but it will be expensive to run.

I don't know about the propane weed eater idea, I have a feeling it will be gutless and a real hassle keeping it fueled. Now a propane Rodenator I might be willing to test drive

Per Sears "2 Hour run time on just one canister"

Seems like a big advantage to not have gasoline going bad during periods of non use. I have two weedeaters that I have been trying to keep running by working on the carbs. Seems if you don't use them regularly they fail. I hate the gas these days!

Propane for an occasional use engine seems like a great idea.

Forklifts, Zamboni's, and Schwans trucks all run on propane (and have for years), no power loss at all (GMC C5500, 8.1L). And yeah, they burn very clean. They do seem to eat up spark plugs, but other than that, no real disadvantage.

It would be nice to not have to deal with a primer bulb, gas going bad, having to mix up 2 cycle

25cc's is a little small for my liking though. I'm surprised noone has come up with a commercial grade one, 40-50 cc, straight shaft, you could even mount a bottle between the bike handles.

Using any weed eater is still yardwork. But operating a Rodenator looks a whole lot more like weekend entertainment!
A whole lot more "bang" for the bucks..
