Do you have a safe with an electronic lock? Whether it be for documents, valuables, or whatever I highly suggest you replace it ASAP with a good old-fashioned multiple combination/key lock type. It has come to our attention recently that manufacturers of these "safes" retain codes that will bypass your combination and have given those codes to law enforcement without due process. The fact that they retain a code is reason enough to reject them.
