I get these for trouble codes where should i start .<br><br>Trouble Code: P1693 <br>Description: A companion DTC was set in both the ECM and PCM<br> <br>Trouble Code: P0500 <br>Description: Vehicle Speed Sensor ???<br><br>

How do you pull up the codes? My buddy's ford all you have to do is turn the key on and off 7 times.

Turn the ignition to the on position 3 times leaving in the on position on the third try.<br><br>I also am getting codes P-1693 and P-0237. Code P-0237 I believe is low voltage to the MAP sensor. I think I can diconnect the battery for about 30 minutes and the codes will be erased, is this true and/or is there a slicker way to erase the codes? I want to erase mine to give the MAP sensor a chance to throw the code again. I have read that you could get this code from an over boost situation.and when this happens the engine goes into a derated power mode which would explain why I have no power until I get to about 2000 RPM.

 

drecu, I was typing when you posted. 3 times on the iginition worked on my 2001 but I will try your method also.

 

Alright. I'm going to try both ways here in just a bit. I'll let yall know which one worked for me.

 

Alright. Went and scanned the truck. Turned the key on and off three times. Here's what I got:

P PCU ------ P 1693
P ECU ------ P 0237

What do these codes mean?

I don't know if you can erase the codes. I had my batteries unplugged for an hour with the key in the run position doing the APPS reset and the code is there today. Don't know if it was there before or not. This was after I unplugged the Comp.

 

0237 turbo circut A sensor low. 1693 will always be there if you have a box.<br> Danny

 

You have to have a code scanner or a computer diagnostic link, to reset the codes on an OBD 2 vehicle. Even then you still won't completely remove them from memory,that's what my friend the mechanic tells me.

 

Disconnected the batteries for little over 30 minutes last night, looks like it did not erase the codes. Plan &quot;B&quot; is to let my son take it to his auto shop class and clear codes with OBD II scanner, which won't happen now till next week with the white stuff falling.<br><br>BigBlue,<br>Is your truck way down on power between 1200 and 1800 RPM? You are getting the same codes I am and my power is down right embarrassing.<br>

 

I dont' know if it is the TC acting up more than ever, or what, but the power does seem a little low. I've got to rev it pretty high to get it to go somewhere. Maybe I'm just used to having the Comp on 1x3 the whole time. I'm thinking that it may be the TC slipping. Can't really tell. I'll let you know later.
