I wanted to clarify, I am more impressed with the internet speed with my new cable than any TV program or picture (which I know is GOOD anyway).

I'm going to save hundreds of dollars a year with Broadband phone, not having the extra equipment (satelite dish/boxes) is just another attraction to digital cable for me.

Now then, where I'm at now has regular old (analog, I guess you would call it) Cable. It pretty much stinks. Goes out all the time. limited pay channels, no PPV for nudies, Uh..... I mean main event sports, etc.

My inlaws (on my property) went to Direct TV and Direc way for the internet long ago cause they couldn't go without Faux News.

So do you get Crappy News Network on your analog cable?

Yeah, that and Headline (still CNN).

I prefer the local stations, WBAL to be specific. They don't have time to come up with a bunch of senstaionals pieces. Usually just the local interests, weather, sports, how many people were shot last night over Crack in West Baltimore, etc.

Precisely why i chose cable

54.95 a month for roadrunner internet access, and 50 bucks more for about 100 channels on the TV. But at the moment we have directv, free for a year with the purchase of a new TV and its ok, but i do miss my cable. These 200 plus number channels are hard to remember..

Were we live we had no choice for cable,we only had the choice of Direct or Dish. We picked Direct cause they are in partner with the phone company so we get a discount, plus we get more channels with the basic package on Direct then we would of on Dish. The only thing that sucks living out this far we only get dial up internet,we could get DirecWay but we aint paying $600 for setup and another $100 a month for it plus the cost of the Didect-Tv...

I have now problem memorizing?(sp?) the channel I most watch,i watch tops of 20 channels regulaurly(sp?),if i cant remeber a channel i just go to find and type in the channel name and it will bring it up.

Cable in my area suck, way over priced for what you get. My DirecTV experience was rather poor, the provider for my area was some outfit out of Louisville, KY. Bill was ALWAYS FUBAR, and they would sign you up for stuff like "Equipment Insurance" after you specifically told them not to. Also terrible about telemarketing, forever calling badgering you about crap. Dish Network doesn't do any of that stuff, and I am happy with them. I've only had a couple outages for 10 or 20 minutes at a stretch, seems like if your dish is out due to weather you probably ought to be in the basement rather than watchin TV anyway, I've only lost it once due to snow, and that was when it was coming down 2" an hour.
