Pluggin' In

OK, last night it got down to 5 above zero here, so I plugged my truck in at 10pm and left it till I started it this morning. Am I hurting anything by leaving it plugged in so long?

Thanks
Grampaw

just your electric bill.... ;D

you might want to throw it on a timer and run it for about 3 hours before you leave for work or whatever...

Actually, I don't think it cost's that much leaving it plugged in all the time... I used to do it and never noticed a difference in the bill... ;D

Tony

Re:Pluggin' In

During a cold spell last winter, I left mine plugged in for several days straight and the bill may have went up a dollar or so. Was well worth it to me.

To answer your question, no you will not hurt anything leaving it plugged in and it is much better on the engine too.

Yeah those rascals that stretch my electric cord down my driveway leaving it there for me to find when I come home, are sure hard to catch!

Re:Pluggin' In

I reckon my truck is pampered. Below 40 degrees ABOVE freezing I plug mine in for the night. Never fails to start on the first bump of the switch.

Also helps to keep the wife's Jaguar windshield free of frost because it parks between my truck and the house.

Be careful how you say "varmits" around Top now. He'll be drooling all over the keyboard thinking LUNCH TIME.

Re:Pluggin' In

My solution, the ISPI Indicator. (It's Still Plugged In)
A Velcro cable tie at 12:00 on the wheel.
Goes on before I plug it up for the night.
Comes off after I unplug in the AM.

ISPI Indicator

Re:Pluggin' In

Geeze Top, I thought we had you trained for the stretchy extension cord trick. I drape my extension cord over the driver's side mirror. Kinda hard to not see that. Yes, I pamper my truck too. I wish someone would pamper me as much as I do that truck.

~Dave

Re:Pluggin' In

I gotta set a mouse trap to catch the varmint that unplugs the cord at the outlet inside the garage. I go out thinking I"ll have a toasty truck. I have a suspicion the varmint has red hair and seems to think she knows better than I do!
