The only thing dumber than spending over $600 for a game system is breaking one for internet popularity. Wait about a year and the price will drop in half and there will be more games available.

 

It wasn't so much the smashing that I enjoyed it was how ticked off the crowd was that he did it that was so funny.

 

If what the guy at the end said was true and they had a second unit to sell on ebay, then they most likely paid for both the units and made a nice profit on the ebay sale, they were going for crazy prices on ebay.

 

I have heard and read the same ting, I'm sure they coverd the cost, and still made a nice profit.

 

I promise I'm not trying to flame or anything, but what will $600 buy your truck? Almost nothing. People that are hoardcore gamers (hoever useless it is to be one) think spending money on a truck is stupid when you could buy more games...

Now spending over $600 just to be the first moron to own one is VERY stupid. as phox said your getting a $1000 blu ray player that plays games for $600. It is a good deal cause it take sony like $850 just to manufacture them. They lose money on each one they sell.

I agree completely with waiting. Let them work out the bugs and drop the price and I'll get one. I want a Wii (stupid name) just because you get all the old nintendo games (regular and super). Now that is cool.

His statement is true about it costing more to manufacture than they sell it for, they make all their profit off the games and accessories. XBOX 360 is the same way.

 

I was bored and just finished checking Ebay for one of these..
UNBELEIVABLE......There are 4 listigns where teh openign bid is $150K or more( no-one has bid on any of those) and most of them are sellign for around $1200......
Jeesh, I got better things to do with money than that....

 

Ya. I guess you're right. I can see that. I mainly wanted to harrass him for whooping my boys this weekend on the football field! But it does seem ludicrous to design something that cost more to build than to sell. O-well. Whatever.

 

It isn't just a game console if you look at the big picture. It has a browser with wireless interne, a 60gb hard dive, media card slots, and a blu ray dvd player. If not a gaming console the blue-ray dvd player is alon wirth $600 since the heapest one out there is $800. It is insane what people are paying for them on ebay, but the $600 is not bad fro all that you are getting.

 

What's a blu ray player? Is that anything like a Booray player? Booray is a coonass(<<Not a dirty word) card game. Not sure of the spelling.

If those idiots have all that money to waste they are welcome to send it my way I cant believe the prices on ebay.Why would anybody give four or five times what it's worth

 

I'm sure some people say the same thing about people spending $2k+ on aftermarket transmission or twin turbo setups (I wouldn't ask) but it is still dumb to pay that much over retail
