Pilot lights won't ignite burners.

We have a propane stove / oven in our Alaska cabin.
It has two pilot lights, NO IGNITERS .
With the top of the stove up the main burners ignite like they are supposed to.
Lower the top and the burners will not ignite.
Raise the top again and the pilot lights are still burning.
This video shows our exact stove and the pilot lights.
This is NOT ME in the video It's just a video I found that shows pilots, top and burners, etc.
I do not even own a tie or have an English accent
So why won't the burners ignite with the top down?

Possibly dirt in the tubes, such as a spider web. Have you removed the burner heads and checked that all the holes are clear? If the stove sits unused for long periods, then it is quite possible that something has crawled inside. When the pilot light is lit, does it burn at the usual height and nice and blue?

Something is blocking airflow. Stan's suggestion is what I would look into

I've had that issue before. Took the burners out, soaked them in the sink and rinsed them out really well, no issues.
