PE Exam
Well, the I thought the pm portion was easier than the morning. The morning had many more bridge problems, which I basically had to guess at. In the afternoon, I only blindly guessed at about 3 problems, so I feel pretty good aobut it. I hope everyone on here did well, because I know how stressfull it can be. Let's keep this thread going when the results come out.

I was very disappointed, there wasn't a single prestressed concrete problem on either the morning or afternoon exam.... as a matter of fact, there wasn't even so much as a regular concrete problem to determine the maximum design moment.
The morning part of the FE for me wasnt too bad. Most of the problems I thought were fairly straightforward. For the morning section I'd say there was probably about 10 or so that I really didnt have a clue about, most of that was mechanics of materials and other stuff I've never had.
The evening portion I selected the electrical test. It was certainly a lot harder than the morning section. My emphasis is power and the evening section only had about 5 questions concerning that.
I guess I'll find out how I did in a few months. I'm just glad its over.

This one sounds like a lot of fun. Except I'm still 3 years away from taking mine, I'm just a freshman in Mechanical. Congratulations for having completed the test guys, best of luck on your results.
I thought I'd revive this old thread.
This past spring I failed the Structural I exam, but I buckled down and studied again and took it in October.
Well, got my results back today and I passed this time
. I sort of feel like a DA for failing the first time, but check the pass rates on that thing. Anyway, it is a great relief.
Anyone else take the test this past October? Got the results yet?

This spring. been pouring over HVAC, Nuclear, and machine design. It sucks how much you forget dealing with pressure vessels, manufacturing, electrical and hydraulics day in and day out then have to learn this over again to take a test.
What was frustrating to me is that I do structural design every day. A lot of it has to do with getting proficient again in working the problems by hand after using computers so much.

Thanks graphite, I can't believe how relieved I am. I guess I've been worrying about this thing for right at a year now. Christmas definitely came a few days early this year.
My wife is quite happy too. She was in her last trimester with our daughter during the months leading up to the October exam, and she had to deal with me studying every time I had a minute to spare.
Anyway, thought I'd update the thread. Later
