OTR drivers
I Am Actually A Local Driver Now, But I Used To Run Otr. I Think The Biggest Thing Is That Most Drivers Have No Home Or Family So They Have Alot Of Free Money To Spend On Their "home". Lights Are Ok To Me But Wiring Can Be A Nightmare And Just Take Time To Maintain. Chrome Looks Good One Day At A Time. The Day Its Polished. After That It Is A Pain In The Rear Imo. NEITHER ONE EARN YOU ANY MORE MONEY OR MAKE YOUR TRUCK GO ANY FASTER!
I've always been a believer of chrome don't get you home. but with this last truck I bought, it has some chrome and chicken lights, and it is growing on me. I don't see a problem with it if your rig is paid off and you decide to accessorize a little bit. It also depends on who does the wiring, I've had to go back on this truck and fix bad connections due to using butt connectors and scotch locks.
Rewiring Trucks And Trailers Is Something I Do Alot Of. Not Really Because I Have To, But I Am Very Picky And Like It To Be Done My Way. For One I Like To Have As Few Conections As Possible Which Requires Basically Mapping Out A Wiring Diagram. Use Midland Junction Boxes So Conections Are Sealed And Easy To Correct If One Would Make A Mistake. And I Also Like To Use Truck-lite Brand Led's Because They Have Plug In Lights That You Dont Have To Rewire If One Goes Bad.

I have always looked at accesories as requiring at least one of four features.
1. makes my truck go faster
2. makes my truck go farther
3. makes my truck more comfortable.
4. its free.
Not all trucks are dressed up, but I see quite a few that are chromed, excessive light, or stretched.
