Night to the rest of DTR

Dragon has been walked, the Janitors closet has been tossed upside down, and fresh pitchers of sweet tea are ready. There is also fresh coffee, tea, and ph00 too.

Good morning everyone.

On this day in 1836 - The U.S. Congress approved the Deposit Act, which contained a provision for turning over surplus federal revenue to the states.

1865 - Confederate General Stand Watie, who was also a Cherokee chief, surrendered the last sizable Confederate army at Fort Towson, in the Oklahoma Territory.

1868 - Christopher Latham Sholes received a patent for an invention that he called a "Type-Writer."

947 - The U.S. Senate joined the House in overriding President Truman's veto of the Taft-Hartley Act.

1951 - Soviet U.N. delegate Jacob Malik proposed cease-fire discussions in the Korean War.

1952 - The U.S. Air Force bombed power plants on Yalu River, Korea. (Guess the cease-fire discussions didn't go so well!)

Morning all,

Ive been reprieved from the heat, back in the office where the bought air is nice and cool.

Temp was 99 degrees yesterday, three different thermometers on the right of way were marking over 115 degrees. Not sure how accurate they are but all three can be that far off.

Good cold glass of tea sure hits the spot...

Yall have a good day now ya hear!

Oh and Im still waiting for some rain that yall need to send down here.

Howdy all. Been picking up and trying to pack 25 pounds of into a 2 pound bucket. Getting the tools up and a path through the garage. Rear brakes went kaput this morning. Sounds like the pads found the rotor on the RR. I'll drive the wife to work tomorrow so I can have a vehicle to chase parts. The decision has been made, I'm going to Kansas City to load and pull the sister-in-law's u-haul trailer back to B'ham. Don't let my excitement overwhelm you. Wife suggested I stop in southern Missouri to see my buddy on the way up. I called him and he's game. I might even get to play on the tractors and make a little hay while I'm there.
