evening all...

got a decking question...
I currently have a cement patio, but would like to cover it with a wood or faux wood deck. Can I lay treated wood over cement and expect it to last without an airgap below the wood? I only have a few inches to play with.

I wouldn't think so. There is a product made from recycled tires or plastic bottles that's suppose to be pretty good but it's more expensive. It looks like wood but you have to pre-drill the holes and screw it down. Here's a search that will give you some info about the options.

thats $1000.00 to cover my patio based on Lowe's prices vs $300 for treated wood...
I just measured, I got 4" to play with.

eta: how much room do I need under the deck for air flow?

Now it looks like there were at least 3 Claude. Here's one of Holland's headaches. It was about this time last year in Saugatuck, when the car drove into the 40 ft deep washout and they found the car in the creek just about to the Lake Michigan Beach.

I was actually thinking about how I could build a small nuclear reactor for power generation. I was pondering whether or not it is illegal to possess radioactive material for that purpose and how much would be needed. I wouldn't think too much.

Good morning all. Here's your history;

On this day in 1868 - Arkansas was re-admitted to the Union.

1870 - The U.S. Congress created the Department of Justice.

1933 - Germany became a one political party country when Hitler banned parties other than the *****.

1940 - France and Germany signed an armistice at Compiegne, on terms dictated by the *****.

1941 - Under the codename Barbarossa, Germany invaded the Soviet Union.

1942 - A Japanese submarine shelled Fort Stevens at the mouth of the Columbia River.

1942 - In France, Pierre Laval declared "I wish for a German vitory".

1942 - V-Mail, or Victory-Mail, was sent for the first time.

1944 - U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt signed the "GI Bill of Rights" to provide broad benefits for veterans of the war.

1945 - During World War II, the battle for Okinawa officially ended after 81 days.
