Which OBDII to buy, w/ PC support?

I need to buy one asap. Which would you recommed?

I need the type that can plug into a PC, USB or serial is fine, but prefer USB.

I see alot of universal ones out there around the $150 mark, anyone have experience with them?

And can these type read codes even w/out the engine running?

Thanks in adavnce,

After a quick day of reasearch Im going to buy an AutoEnginuity off ebay.

Seems to have the most features and does everything I need.

Also does data logging, monitors as much as you want it to in real time, its own "dyno" and "track time".. Not that its 100% accurate, but im sure its good enough for back to back tests (say edge comp on 1x1 vs edge on 3x3 vs edge on 5x5).. im sure it will be able to tell the difference.

It goes for $200-250 on ebay.

Please post back after you get a chance to try that unit out, I Emailed a seller of a similar unit on Ebay (after asking here) and he as much as admited that the product would only read trouble codes on the DC

trouble codes on the DC? Not sure what that means.

I used it a little while ago to hookup and get the nice injection pump code.

After its running again ill post more about the other features like the dyno and performance testing, data logging, sensor monitoring, etc.

He was saying that all the other features (other than reading trouble codes) would not work on my Dodge, I would like to find one that everything on it worked though
Thanks

ive played with a bit between my ram and a friends mazda 6, and the mazda definetly has more sensors to monitor (maybe 9 on the truck, vs 20 or so on the mazda)?

But it seems to be correct.. coolant temp registeres around 170, air intake temp around 140, throttle position and engine load monitoring.

doesnt do much else..

they do offer Chrysler specific software, that will let you test the individual items (such as ABS, etc).. but the software is pricey.
