I bought a new X500 last summer and there was a little bit of wiggle room, but not a lot...

They pretty much are what they are, even when they are slightly used they seem to go for almost as much as they were when new, which is a good thing.

I don't know what their promotion is this year, but last year is was 5 year or 500 hour warranty, which ever came first.

Best thing I could could say to do would be to build the tractor you want on John Deere's website and then take about 10%, maybe 15%, off the total amount that it gives you and that's about what you should be able to get the machine for.

I have purchased a few tractors, implements and 2 gt's from our local dealer. they have price neg on everything except the mowers. I always make them throw in something. The first I had the deck upgraded from 48" to 54" and wheel weights installed at no extra cost. The last one I got a snow plow and tire chains. Of course you always get a hat or 2!!!

They sure don't like to budge, do they? Those x500's sure are purdy, but at what price? Just get the p-pumped12 valve 5 speed of garden tractors and be done with it 4400 hours and counting Yanmar Diesel and a shaft driven 60'' deck

Heh, yeah, I've seen prices get pretty silly. I got lucky with the one in the pic. Blade and deck included from the local dealer only 2500. It's an '89. Mom has that one now. Picked up an '85 that's much cleaner sans blade for 2600. Lots of tractor for the money, imo, and the pump is easy to turn up
