Taking advantage of the dealer!

A "friend" of mine is trading in his 06 megacab hemi for a 2010 mega drw fully loaded. He asked me if I wanted to buy his rancho 6" lift or if I knew of anyone that wanted it. Looked around for a buyer until he told me he wanted $1500 for a used lift. So I asked him to swap and some $$ for the steering links so I could get the HD setup into our 05 he said "no i don't want to take advantage of the dealer" What??? He's the only person I know that's ever said something like that. If he could only see how bad the dealer sticks it to him. Some friend he is. Found a buddy that was going to offer him $900 for his lift and he said good luck finding a used lift like this one for that price...

Supposedly the dealer gave him $18k on trade with like 69kmiles or something, his new truck was gonna be like $48k that's what he said and I just can't c a dealer paying that kind of money for a gas MC.

Don't y'all hate it when ppl think they can sell something used for $100 less than what they pay for it?

I just had to get that out of my system or else I won't be able to sleep tonight.

I know a guy who used to (and probably still does) sell used parts and he will call the dealer to see what it costs new and then takes a few bucks off and tries to sell it.

Yup.... That one of the reasons I quit frequenting pawnshops.

He will get whats coming to him, from the dealer that is.

I agree with your friend, if you make a deal you stick to it.

It always amazes me how some people expect the Dealer to be above reproach, honest and forthcoming but they won't hold themselves to the same simple ethics and honesty.

Don't complain about Dealers being dis-honest when you are not honest yourself

An honest person never has to remember what he said..

If I make a deal with someone regardless of who it is I stick with it. I much rather take the high road.

I've always been the guy that people try an come out on top on. When I sell something of mine Iam honest and straight forward about whatever it is. I bought an ats two piece manifold a while back for $480 to my door. I installed it and the week after my brother said he was getting a new truck (ford). I pulled his one piece afe stainless manifold and installed my stock one on his and swapped the ats to the afe. I posted it on CL for $275, with like 6 days of use. Guy called me from ft worth asked me why I was selling it told him the reason he said I will give ya $200 I said come get it. I feel I'm pretty honest to all individuals. When it's a dealer they rather you take the loss instead of them and I bet there's probly 95% of others that will agree. The only one that's ever worked well was Randolph dodge but that's because one of my brothers HS friends is GM. When I have something for sell I always end up taking kinks on everything I sell. The local dealer wouldn't sell us a new truck for $450 less than what they had it marked. I guess it's all on the kind of ppl you deal with.
