Morning all, sorry to have to post this but I have never changed out an A/C compressor before. My wifes car is a 1995 Ford Explorer 4.0 4x4. The A/c compressor clutch seized up and wiped the compressor. I have it bypassed now with a non-a/c belt, but need the compressor for the defrost cycle. Has anyone had any experience changing one out on any type of vehicle or your truck? The job looks straight foward, four mount bolts and A/C lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated, before she grabs my truck...
I swapped on out on my PSD... Like you said 4 bolts, swap the lines. Easy job. Real easy job. I did the mechanical shop, and took it to have it lubed and filled, paid less than $100.
If you are even slightly mechanicly inclined it should take you no time at all.
