O/T- Need help with an Explorer

I'm trying to help out a friend at work, he doesn't have much money so I told him I'd try and fix his truck. It's a 2000 Ford Explorer, 2wd, 4.0L SOHC V6. It needed front rotors/pads which I finished, and he complained of an exhaust leak, with surging idle/stalling in gear when stopped. He also told me it had 2 bad O2 sensors, but that I believe is just the code autozone or whoever pulled up. As soon as I started it, I opened the hood and found the EGR supply tube dangling, somehow broke off at both ends. I haven't checked the EGR valve itself, but I'll probably change it anyhow.

My question is, does anybody have a clue where I could maybe find this tube? I can find them for the 5.0 no problem, which looks similar but probably wont work. There is ONE nearby (well, almost nearby) at a dealership for just under $200. Once I add the EGR and who knows what else at this point he's looking at over $400 in parts so far, just trying to help him out a bit.

Best part is he brought it to me on Friday, did the brakes Saturday, then Sat. night I wrecked AC joint in my shoulder. In a sling for a few weeks, not making a dime except for this.

Any help is appreciated! I've tried the Ford forums, but I have much more faith in you guys (and gals)! Cheers!

Doesn't seem to be a part they hold, most of the good ones go with the motors around here. May be stuck with the dealer, I've looked everywhere I can find.

To the mods, could this possibly be moved to "other" section? I never really noticed this is general DIESEL discussion. Plus seems to be more action over there. Thanks!

Have a picture of what we are looking for, have you check Car-part.com they are a list of local junkyard and what parts they have. How about ebay.

Ebay link removed

Mods, I know this is an ebay link, but I figure it maybe ok since is not really diesel related.

Well thanks for looking Purp. That's....close, but not quite. I'll post a pic later if I can get the darn camera to work. Just a few min ago I got the "tube nut" out of the exhaust header, what a pain. Working on getting the EGR out now... and I thought my Dodge had stubborn bolts. I hate Fords.

I think the applicable years are 97-02 or 03, not 100% on that. Appreciate the help though, I'll search again.

Oh, and I think the SOHC and OHV motors have 2 different types...of course. I found one from a 02, looks like a OHV type though. Ugh.

Look at Ranger's too. IIRC, that V6 was used in a LOT of Ford's of that era.

Yes I think you're right Tony. Unfortuneatley most of the ones I can find are from the OHV motor and won't work. Bit the bullet and got one from the dealer, $198.76.
