Need help with a Honda pressure washer (motor)
Well folks I'm in need of help from the larger community once again! My neighbor has an older honda pressure washer, went to start it up the other day and it started puking oil out the exhaust. I figured it had a cracked ring or something, it gets used a decent amount. So I offer mine to him while I fix his.
So I crack it open, exhaust valve is coated in black. It only ran for less then a minute, so I decided to check out the piston/bottom end while it's open. While cracking the side case open, the cam and counter shaft came out with it, partially anyways, so I lost the alignment points on the teeth. My problem is I don't see any notches on the crank gear, only the counter/cam gears.
Does anyone have the correct way to align it all back up? I don't have the model number handy, but it's a 337cc OHV single, older model, says he bought it 10-12 years ago.
Piston had a few light scores on the base of it, top ring was a little brown on the edge, but the cylinder and oil/bottom ring were like new. I'm thinking the valve guide/seal let go after sitting (?) and is letting oil in. I'm not very familiar with these pushrod motors, so any insight/tips is appreciated.
PS seems like any time I post here I need something, someday I promise I'll give some info back.....even if it is useless!
