Louisville KY????

We are making a trip to Richmond IN this year for some family functions and so we are looking at vacation at the same time.
We are considering the Louisville KY area as a vacation destination. Could some of you that have been there or live in the area name a few of the things that we should go and see?

Well thats a start. thank you

On line it looks like there are several things that would be of interest. The bat factory and several old plantations, museums etc…

The bat museum is pretty cool. We did a tour for my buddies bachelor party. We each got a bat with our names on it.

Why would you want one of those nasty vermin-like creatures with your name on it? That's kinda disgusting actually.

I see yet another thread has strayed off the original posters intent.

Good job guys.

I wonder how they managed to catch the bats to put their names on them?

Thats cool though. I would keep that one in mind on a vacation. Kind of a nice keep sake for the family. Hopefully there will be some more 'informative' posts here.

Kinda contradictory don't ya think???

If it were me, I would look for some of the historic horse farms. The wife tells me there are miles of absolutely spectacular country drives. Maybe get off the beaten path and do some searching. I have never been there, but the wife tells me next time we head to NC or FL we are gonna drive through KY just for the countryside. Would be a fantastic opportunity to go fond a nice quiet place to have a picnic or something.

You'd think an admin would set a good example

Louisville is not too bad. Spent a lot of summers down there and wasn't too impressed. Though there are some horse farms in Louisville the majority of the really nice ones are in Lexington..

You could probably catch your own bats on one of the side roads too.

It really quite easy to catch them, just rope them as they fly by; it’s the hog tying and branding your name that’s the hard part.
