Need a beer song but don't like Garth?
Sorry 'bout that! 'tis true 'tis true. The Copper Horse became the next hang out. Rick was cool and we locked the doors after closing time and played pool in the dark. That is how the "pool table" shot was made. I tried a new one that night and then no one could find me. I was passed out on the table by the door! Man. College days were fun. Then some stupid woman and her daughter bought it and called it the Copper Penny. I wouldn't stop to throw water on it if it was buring. Them either...man that was rude! Sorry 'bout that too!
The mom's name was Penny. Kinda what we thought...retarded. The daughter was a * and the mom wasn't far behind. Fill in the * with a number of options. The daughters street name was "purple haze" from what I have been told. Anyway. The hangout now is called "Roosters". It is the old pool hall on the south end of the strip. Hank Moore, the guy that owns Tumbleweeds www.calffry.com opened it up a few years ago. We play there about once a month or so. It is cool. I'm telling ya, Stillwater ain't the scene it used to be. Although, we could probably beat the Oregon Ducks!!!
Good God. Don't bring that up again! Is there a smilie for cry babies or ball bags?

When I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself. Yeah, my whole family done give up on me,and it makes me feel oh so bad, the only one who will hang out with me is my dear Old Grandad, and we drink alone --- with nobody else. However, sometimes I like one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer. Cheers.
OK, good drinkin songs:
The Bubbles in my beer---Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys
Think I'll just stay here & drink---Merle Haggard
Tonight the bottle let me down---Merle Haggard
Workin Mans blues---Merle Haggard
Good Time Charlie's---George Strait
The Honkey Tonk upstairs---George Strait
Designated Drinker---Alan Jackson & George Strait
If drinkin don't kill me, her memory will---George Jones
Wine colored roses---George Jones
Whiskey River---Willie Nelson
Drinkin my baby goodbye---Charlie Daniels
I could go on and on here fellas, but I just don't think it gets any better than Haggard, Jones & Strait!

I am not officially disclaiming that I am from Oregon and that I now like the beavers.

Side note: Now that I have taped my mouth shut its goin to hurt like a sumamothertrucker gettin tape out of my mustach
All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down. Hank Jr; the hangovers hurt more than they used to.
Then drive over to Mulhall, OK Saturday night and see us play. It is a little resturant/bar with great food and great music (most of the time). It is in the middle of town and you can't miss it. www.lucillesok.com There is a menu on the website too. Check out our songlist on the website and you'll see you won't be dissappointed in the song selection. http://www.possumspeckerband.com/songlist.htm
I wonder if it is against the rulz to advertise music on here!

I ain't drinkin any more.
But I ain't drinking any less.
I had one smooth shot of three fingers tequilla
Just to soften up the edge
Two hours later we were mixing margaritas
Throwing caution to the wind
Singing oh no here we go again
It's funny this thread popped up cause I was trying to think of some good drinking songs and was having trouble.

It is just nice to talk to folks that like the same music I do. Peace.
Semi OT- Randy Crouch is one awesome fiddle player, a blast to watch, and a really nice guy on top of it all! His name never really comes up in these discussions, probabally because he doesn't really play with his bana much. Just sits in with others.
After the show in Tulsa last Saturday with the Red Dirt Rangers he and I were loading up his gear and talking, and he told me he was about to start playing more shows
Which will be awesome, I love to watch him play.
