I'm not much on Garth. George Stait is The Man though. I like drinking beer to Honky Tonk Crazy, we played that album so much in college, it's almost a habit now to crack one open when I hear the first couple notes.

That new song Give it away is awesome, I may have to actually buy the CD so I can play it in the truck more.

I agree on both points. But live they have always been a little rockier. I guess that is why Garage dosen't seem so different to me. I have seen them close to 20 times...

Roger Creager, Cory Morrow, Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green (except his 2 newest albums), Cross Canadian Ragweed. If you like country, give these guys a try.

Cheers, Dave

P.S. By the way, Todd Snider put that song out way before Garth did. But they are both good.
Todd Snider's song is a lot better than Garth's

WOW! I called you a Texan by accident! Sorry about that! Please forgive me!!!

And I forgot about Reckless Kelly! I love their stuff. My favorite song to play at gigs is She Sang the Red River Valley.

"The next thing she heard was a bone chillin' crack!" I love that line!!

From what I hear, Boland is out of rehab now. I remember when he had a birthday at Tumbleweeds and he had a full bottle of Jack next to his microphone. After about 12 songs, he couldn't play or sing. It was bad. I guess that finally caught up with him. Reminded me of an old Hank Jr. concert. I saw him at Okeene at a benefit that we all play each year in Aug. He seemed better. I like a bunch of his songs too. Backslider Blues is great.

Yeah, I have seen him a few times since he got out. He is doing a lot better, and the shows have improved for it.

I have an addiction to live music...

Then drive over to Mulhall, OK Saturday night and see us play. It is a little resturant/bar with great food and great music (most of the time). It is in the middle of town and you can't miss it. www.lucillesok.com There is a menu on the website too. Check out our songlist on the website and you'll see you won't be dissappointed in the song selection. http://www.possumspeckerband.com/songlist.htm

I wonder if it is against the rulz to advertise music on here!

Boys from Oklahoma.

This is for you Oklahoma guys. I have always heard of the Wormy Dog Saloon for a while now. Seems like a cool place. I saw some pictures of it and I know CCR did a live album there. I figure its a lot like our own John T. Flores Country store in Helotes, Tx. How many of ya'll have been there?

Wormy Dog

I don't know what it is like now.

Back when I did my 4 years of drinking, it was a small place. Upstairs, saddles for bar stools, only a couple of pool table and a small dance floor/ stage.

$2 pitchers from 5-6 and penny beer on Thursdays.

I sure miss that place.

Well, gentlemen, I hate to dissappoint you, BUT IT IS CLOSED! And that sucks. It used to be a cool place. Then the dang frat rats started taking over and after that 90% of the folks that went in there didn't know the difference in a steer and a bull. That was a say day. The strip in Stillwater, as many here probably know, used to be the stuff. All weekend, beer, babes, all night. Now, the cops wait for you to walk out of the bars and arrest you for public intox. The churches over there really screwed thing up for the bars, not that it isn't a good thing overall, but the partyin' has come to a cease. The new wormy dog is in Bricktown in OKC. Although we have tried to book our band in there, I still haven't been in the place. I hear it is cool, but it can't beat the old one. We used to sit in there with Chuck, one of the owners at the time, and throw our bottles on the floor when they were empty. Endless peanuts and great bands came there. Now, just rats and crickets. It makes me sad to think about it. But one thing is for sure...I sure don't miss carrying our big speakers up those stairs!! That seriously sucked!
