It takes a very long time to load the inbox (the stuff that has already been downloaded) , and sometimes will not load it at all , tried uninstalling and reinstalling it , no difference , any more suggestions?

how big is your mail box? I dont run T-bird, but if the mail box files are getting large, then it may be slowing down the loading of those files. try archiving or deleting some emails, especially stuff with attachments.

Edwin , it is my dad's computer , and he is on dial up , but the stuff that takes forever to load is already on the computer.

I have no idea how large the mailbox is, but i will pass the word on.

How much memory does he have? XP is a memory hog and if you are short on memory it takes longer to load stuff because everything has to be swapped out to VM.

I reccommend no less than 512megs and 1 gig is better.
