Pretty cool though I could have done without Geraldo Rivera for 16 minutes. I was actually hoping he was going to fall out of that boat.

Oh and Mrs. Valentine looks like she fell out the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.. You too must be related.

Good video, Scott. Boy, was Ole Ro young there.

As I watch this, my question is how do we get this idea of "working hard" to our grandkids - - my kids have it, but one of my GD's has not learned it. Would rather run around in his jacked up truck with his buddies texting while he is driving and texting while talking to me and texting while eating with me and texting while sitting on the potty and texting while - - whatever he is doing. Cannot see the value of college, but will go cuz grandy will pay the bill. Question is how what will he get out of it with that attitude. And, what will some of the liberal teachers pound into his head while there? Anyhow, thanks for the video - - been in that country and it is marvelous.
Bob

ps: now Cincy - - be nice. That little lady has my respect. She is genuine, not a prissy, hard working and into everything - - good girl. And it looks like she loves and respects her husband and supports his efforts - - - looks like a good wife. Looks ain't everything - - just look at me - - ugly, mean, but soooooo sweet. .................wow, what a hunk. .....

Take them out of public school, take away all the electronic distractions,or limit it and stick a boot up there rear every time they try to sit when told to work .The boot trick worked wonders on my self and my kids it instills great work ethics

Dont get me wrong, she has all my respect. As well as all those guys in the logging industry. Without them I'm out of business. Lord knows I've caused the death of many trees. I just figured she had to be related to Scott..

Why is grandy paying the bill if junior doesn't see the value in going? Did junior pay for that jacked up truck with money that he earned by working? If not, then he's probably a "victim" of someone giving him too much.

I went to college right out of high school and bombed out because I took too much too quickly and wasn't ready for that life. Went back a couple years later and dropped out to take a good job that was offered me and that time I was pulling 4.0s across the board. After that job dead-ended, I went back to college a 3rd time and it was very obvious who was there because someone was paying their way and who was there to actually learn something. My parents helped along the way but aside from the first year that I bombed, I had to work my way through college.

I think college is a wonderful thing once a person has been kicked around by life enough to realize the value of it and I have no problem with anyone having a nice jacked up truck as long as they worked to pay for it. The problem, IMHO, is that parents don't want their kids to have to work for what they want and that breeds a poor work ethic. Parents should be wanting their kids to have better opportunities than they had, not better things than they had.

I know that I'm preaching to the choir here so I'll get off my soap box.

Thanks for the video Scott. Enjoyed that screamin' Jimmy sound clip. Surprised that they haven't built their own bar there in an effort to keep the men in town. Somewhat the " I'm Gonna Hire A Wino To Decorate Our Home " concept.

Just my worth and my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

All of what you see in the video is gone now. Most of the equipment has been left in the bush to rust away. The Clinton administration basically ended logging in that part of Alaska and it was more expensive to haul the equipment somewhere to auction it off than it was to just lose it to the elements.

I particularly liked the comments, "Don't we yell 'timber' "?
"No. We run."

Is the town still there? That's just right up the road from me.

Thanks Scott that brought back memories of being a chocker setter when I was a young buck. Surprized to see that aired on the liberal lame street media station. The logger I set chockers for coined the phrase
"LOG IT OR LOOSE IT" which so many tree huggers don't understand if you don't harvest a tree when it's mature it will eventually rot on the stump.

Fiver Bob I agree with all you said. I have four grandsons & we will just have to wait & see if they catch the work ethic from their dads & grand dads.

No, you're thinking of 'ax men'. There's a big difference. One group actually knows how to log, the other just messes around for the benefit of an audience because it's all they CAN do.

I asked my cousin who's an Alaska State Trooper what he knew about it, and this is his reply;
"Coffman Cove is a city now . It is black top all the way from Hollis to Naukety . And all the way to Coffman".
