Red face make it stop!

I am using a new computer and I am trying to get things how I like the. There is one problem I am having and cannot figure out how to make it stop! It is the drop down menues when you type into a surch engine or ebay. I can see that they have a use but I don't like them and I would like to make them stop! The pic below is of what I want to stop.

Thanks Coop

with windows xp you should be able to try going to control pannel, internet options, click advanced tab, scroll down past accesability , past browsing section and then you should see a line that says " use inline auto complete. if this box is cheked it may be the culprit, uncheck it and then click apply at the bottom of that whole window. close your way out of there and then close your browser and then re open it and head to yahoo and see if that helped. Not sure but it might be the ticket for you. If not it may be a setting in yahoo itself.

It's called "Auto-Complete".
Go to Tools, Internet options, content. Down on the bottom there is two tabs,
Auto Complete & My Profile.

Change the Auto Complete options.

I agree with pjsnyder76...

While your at hit both clear buttons too... That will wipe the list out and never leave a trace... This will also keep it from happening in windows as well.

Not to talk down to anyone who knows better, but. It's also a good idea to go into internet options every once in a while and "Delete Cookies" & "Internet Files".(yes, the "Off-line" files too)
Not sure what it does, but the computer geek at the office told me to do it one time when my computer was acting stupid on me.

How do you guys paste a pic instantly on the thread like that??

The pics has to be uploaded to the picture gallery here or to a web base picture gallery like "Photobucket.com" as it is above...

Right click on the pic and go to properties and the address of the pic will be shown. At this point must people select address text and right click on it and select copy.

Then you hit the IMG button above and added the address to it. Now once your here you can right click again a select paste. You will save lots of time.

Of course, if you folks would just stop using Windows, 99.9% of those problems would go away.

For the fast typers, here's an example of what you'd type to get your inline image to appear:

PHP Code:
[img]http://www.globalaffairs.org/forum/images/smilies/doh.gif[/img]
And it'll show as:

To get the URL of the image, right mouse click on the image and select "Properties". You'll find the URL (location) of the image there. Highlight the URL, press Ctrl-C to copy it to your clipboard, and then you can Ctrl-V to paste the URL into your post.
