Question Thermocouple

Soon I am going to buy a new AutoMeter UltraLite pyrometer so all of my gauges match on the dash. Reading all of the technical information for the unit and I cannot find the answer:
Is the thermocouple an industry standard as far as hot / cold voltage output and linearity so can I use my existing probe on my BANKS pyro on the new AutoMeter pyro.
It does not make since that they would have their own propriarty specs.
I can use and J or K type on any insturment and not have to recalibrate. So I was wondering about them unless the AutoMeter comes with the thermocouple then in that case it would not matter.

You can get most autometer gauges with or without thermocouples. I believe autometer uses type K. You can go to autometer.com and ask their tech support guys via email and they will give you as much detail as you ask for.

Nope, I've tried using a Autometer pyro with a DiProcol gauge and it didn't work. I ended up ditching the DiProcol pyro and went with an autometer and the competition pyro ($$$$$$ 130 for a **** probe). It's nice being able to see what your truck is _actually_ hitting though.
