Thermocouple Question

Ok. I've got a thermocouple already mounted pre turbo (and one post turbo) for my digital gauge. I got an ISSPRO EGT gauge now. Do I have to use the thermocouple that came with the ISSPRO or can I just use my existing one? I don't really feel like going and buying a drill bit and a tap if I don't have to. Thanks for the help.

From what I have read about the thermocouple, the length of the wires is predetermined and must be left the same or readings will be inaccurate. If the leads are the same length, I would try it, and see if works.

Darn. Means I gotta go buy a bit and tap. Oh well. I've got all of them put in the pillar and all the wires ran and everything hooked up except the probe. 4 gauges looks pretty cool on the pillar.

I had no problems running the thermocouple from my old TST comp box (sorry, t-couple brand unknown) with my Isspro EV guage. As long as the thermocouple wires aren't cut, I don't think it matters? ??? I'd try it first, if it doesn't work then spend the money.

brandon.

I went and bought the stuff just in case. I got to thinking about it and the t-couple that's in there now was from my very first set of autometer gauges so I think it's time to change. Plus I got to buy a couple of new tools. All of the gauges are working great and look awesome. Thanks for the help yall.

As long as you keep both sets of themocouple wires the same length you won't have a problem.
