Lost My Cool
Lost My Cool
I don't smoke people, I don't race people who pass me on the road, I leave the stock exhaust on my truck because I don't like to bother other people with the noise.
But today I lost my cool.
The parking garage at my office is always full and I have an assigned space. A big space, parking lengthwise against the wall.
Lately someone without an assigned space has been parking next to my truck, not in an actual space. So I'm pinned between this car and the wall. This has happened maybe 8 times. It's happened with other cars several times over the last couple years.
If I were parked facing the opposite direction I could pretty much just drive out, but since this other car is parked toward the front of my truck and I have very little room behind and in front of me, getting my truck out is a 10-point maneuver. And I don't park facing the other way since my driver's door would be pinned against the wall.
Yesterday I left a note. Not a smiley, flower-scented note, but a perfectly polite note stating that I can't get out of the space easily with the car parked next to me. When I went down after work the car was gone and the note was stuck under my windshield wiper.
Today I went down to the truck to go out and run some errands during the day and the car was back, blocking me in, same as before. So after working my way out of my space (not troubling myself to avoid contact with this cars bumper, by the way), I got out and looked under this car to see if it had tow point. It did.
Out came the tow chain. I backed up to the back side of the car at a 90 deg. angle to it, chained up to its tow point, dragged it's nose around until it had turned 90 deg., then dragged it (front wheel drive in park) about 30 feet until it was sitting in the middle of the garage and not blocking anybody else in.
I've been fantasizing about doing this for a while.
Actually I was surprised I could drag the car. I was worried I'd just spin my wheels, but with my 1000# of winter traction weight and the Powr-Lok, and the fact that this little Toyota (Echo, I think) probably only weighed 2500#, it just chirped and bumped along behind me.
I'm not proud of myself.

I am sorry to hear that you were blocked in and stuff , But that is someone elses property Not cool by any means. If they start having problems with their vehicle you can be at fault. This is my .02. Cin
while i dont normally condone possible damaging someone else's vehicle, did you take pictures of that Huge, smoke belching, fuel guzzling monster dragging that poor tree hugging environmentalists econo-box? that would've been great.

If that was me, and it happened that many times, I would have just kept going until I was out of the garage and down the road, only then would I stop and take the chain off. I probably would leave in in a marked tow zone too.
But that's just me...
But that's just me...
Ya know what makes me mad is I will go to a trailhead and park in a matter where all the other folks can park there outfits. And about 5/10 times someone will park 2 feet from the back of the trailer making it very diffecult to load a 1300 pound mule, not to mention opening the 7ft door. Now this is always a Saab or Volvo or Audi or something, but I am not going to give away my revenge practices.
