My hound, Dane, and Lab hurt really bad. They died young and in pain from cancer. This one died of old age. Still painful but not like the others. She lived a full one without any real problems.
I definitely feel your pain Ron, I had to put my male pit down earlier this year. I dont like to talk about it because it hurts that I had to do it, but he attacked my nephew when I wasnt home. Rocky got out while I was gone, and Jackson wanted to be a helper and put him up. Ran up to Rocky, put his hands on him, and it went downhill from there. Jackson was in the hospital for 3 days, gouges on the face, arms, and legs. Staples, stitches, and minor surgery. I cant explain how hard it was for me to look Jackson in the eye. Its hard to forgive myself for not working with Rocky more (he was adopted, he was in pretty tough circumstances) and I knew of his timidness, he was close to me and that was about it. Its hard to stress my opinions on pit bulls when something like this happens, but I still support the breed and their purpose and love my 2 girls, they are my babies.
He knew I had to do it. If I wouldnt have he would have been euphanized anyways at my cost.
Losing a dog you spent so much time with leaves an imprint for life. You will always remember her for what she was. A great dog.
