Wow, that is very sad to hear. Les Paul is one of the reasons I play guitar, (I have a Les Paul, sadly, it's an Epiphone...).
The man truly is a genius. He has done more than anyone to bring music to what it is today. Multi-track recording, solidbody guitars, and just plain skill playing some very good jazz tunes.
He is a very interesting man to read about, and some of his inventions are pretty crazy.
Rest in peace, Mr. Lester William Polsfuss.
