Lost another one
Well I lost that last and longest living pet in the family today.
Her name was Ginger.
She was 15 yrs old and up until last week she acted like a puppy. She ran and bounced like the happiest animal alive.
She started looking really tired about 1 week ago and just wouldn't eat much.
She passed today in the back yard under the shade of a really large oak tree.
R.I.P. Ginger

Thanks folks.
she's the fifth one the family has lost in the last 1 1/2 yrs.
My daughters 2 dog got onto the nearby RR tracks and were hit by a train. My Chocolate Lab and English Coon hound both died of cancer last yr. It hurt more to lose them 2 because of the severe pain they were in and the fact that I had to have the vet put em down. I knew it was the right thing and knew that waiting it out would have been selfish of me and cruel to them.
Ginger was old and 1/2 blind but happy till the end.
I literally think she died just minutes before I got home.
She was laying in the shade but still very warm.
She was a good girl. Broke my heart to call my wife and tell her.
She was out of town on business.

I wish I was as fine, as those who work the pipeline!

Just remember Ron, She laid there protecting your place till the very end. Lived life to the fullest, didn't lose a second of life, and went out on top. Probably a lesson for all of us right there. Probably why all dogs go to heaven.

Sorry to hear it Ron. Don't know how many hunts Kailey has, so gonna make sure to get her out a bit this year. She's graying uot and I think about this a lot. Sometimes I think about getting another to keep her company on long stretches at work, but figure it would distract from our time together. Take Care

RIP Ginger
I lost 3 of my big dogs in 13 months. That was one hell of a year. Never easy to lose family members.
Very sorry for your loss. She looked like a beautiful dog!

I don't think there's anything worse. Maybe a child, but I've never had kids so I can't speak to that. But I know it hurt worse losing my last lab than it did losing my dad.
My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
