Just remember, when the mod bug hits you, a good portion of the gen2 frontier is replaceable with gen 1 titan parts.
The drive train differs in some minor areas (axle width, A-Arm lenth, engine) The axles are teh same except for width.
There are a few guys that do a titan swap, changing to the titan A-arms and axles to get more lift options and a wider track width.

Oh, one feature you might appreciate on the frontier is the engine assist braking. If you lightly apply the brakes for a few seconds, you will see the engine speed rise. The truck will downshift (automatics ofcourse) so on the long downhills, you dont have to ride the brakes. It will only drop from 5th to 4th, but it helps... some.

Well, went to town today. Test drove a few trucks including a 2010 Frontier, 2011 Tacoma TRD, and a 2008 Chevy 1500.

Ended up buying the 08 Chevy. Extended cab, shortbox, Z71, 4x4, 5.3 Flexfuel, 39k miles, leveling kit with brand new 285 BFG AT's, 4.10 rear end. Topped off the tank leaving town. So far showing 17.0 mpg on the lie-o-meter with the cruise set at 70MPH most of the way home. The speedometer is a bit off though as it showed 38.8 miles and I know it's at least 42 from where I reset the trip meter to home(checked with GPS). Only put 45 miles on, but I'm happy so far.
