Might have another toy...

I'm trying to close the deal on this now... just waiting on the bank.

I was not planning on doing something like this, but with fuel prices, my fuel savings will pay for the bike, fuel and insurance change.

2006 Yamaha V Star 650, 9200 miles, bike is clean as a whistle. Looking more for fuel savings than anything else.

We'll see. Should have it by the end of the week if it works out, I have to get licenses and Marine Corps classes. Gotta buy some PPE and figure out a way to transport it in the truck...

I ride my bike as much as I can. It cost about $17 to fill up with premium and getting 40+ mpg, it saves on wear and tear on the dodge and I get a killer farmers tan

They are nice bikes, very dependable. Yamaha knows how to make a bike. Wether it be a cruiser or a sportbike.

My ex-girlfriend had a 2005 V-Star. Had 35,xxx on it and it ran like a champ. Never gave her a lick of trouble.

And here I finally got old enough and wise enough to sell off my street bikes. Actually in your area they make sense but after my last two close calls (one was a "kid" on a cell phone) I decided my luck was running out. People up here dont look for bikes. On a nice day I sure do miss it though.

Nice ride. With the price of fuel I sure do miss my 89 Yamaha FJ1200.

I think if you're really looking for fuel savings you'd get a scooter. I have a little trouble picturing you on a scooter, but hey, get a tat' that says 'Born To Ride' or something and it might work!

Nice looking bike tho.

That is a great bike and perfect for a new rider. looks like the previous owner did a real nice job setting it up.

Safe scooting Mark. Enjoy!

Nice entry level motorcycle. I think you will want more performance after you get used to it.

Everyone, thanks for the replies. I don't know a whole lot about bikes, but I figure as clean as it is, low miles, no leaks, cranks on the first turn... 3,600 bucks....

I'm just gonna check the brakes real good...

I've put 40,000 miles combined on 2 different v-stars (1100 and 650). The only caution I can offer is to make sure you leave the throttle alone during start up. The throttle has a position sensor and if moved during startup it will mess up the starter clutch. Starter clutches run about 600-700 to replace. Everything else is great on those bikes. Gotta love the shaft drive. Zero maintenance

I wonder if we could get him one of those scooters from Walmart?
Or at least do it up so it looks like a Walmart cart.

Well he didn't even comment on the scooter suggestion, so I doubt it will matter where it comes from, he ain't gonna even entertain the idea. Maybe if we put stacks on it tho...
