It cost right at $180/month for the year I was gone, but it was cheaper (and more convenient for me) than for the gov't to ship it to the vehicle processing and storage center in Tacoma. I paid the entire balance with my gov't travel card and claimed the expense on my travel voucher. Glacier may not advertise it anymore, but a phone call never hurts.

After 9/11 I deployed in what you might call a "hurry" and my truck sat outside for 227 days. It was on-base, plugged in anytime it dropped below freezing, and the wife drove it twice a month or so. After I got home is when it started eating transmissions. Never a problem before, I didn't have any power adders, and I didn't change my driving style. I don't know if the limited use and a Fairbanks winter caused something to go bad, but ever since then I've been unwilling to store a vehicle in anything other than a climate-controlled container. If you're more comfortable storing at your house, I'd suggest your wife drive it more than once a month (like once a week), and drive it for at least an hour.

That all said: Good luck, be safe, and God bless.

Have a "short" to do list from the wife too haha.

I am going to do that, add some dielectric grease to them as well, keep stuff out. Hit the shock rods with lube, get all the door seals with dry lube.

AdminAK, I did see the storage area there for Glacier, think it might just be too pricey for us at the moment, I'll leave a detailed plan for my wife

Just had a little one added to the family!
