Locked out of the old room? Try the new one!8/22 to 8/28 2010

The Enforcer slammed and locked the door on the old room a couple hours ago without warning. Good thing I had some coffee starter Hiding in the back of the garage for just such an occasion!

An hour ago I was not brave enough to start a new breakroom. I thought that the world had ended and I was too stupid to realize it. Its possible that us up north guys are the only ones left. Aaaagggg, I’m freaking out. Ohhh, the food network has some new posts. Mmmm squid. Ok, I will stop panicking. Pretty strange for madhat to end the old breakroom without starting a new one. Hope he is alright. ofcmarc: The coffee you made tastes a little strange and has hair in it. Seems like things are back to normal. Had some out of town visitors earlier. Going to follow the little green footsteps that glow in the night to see if they get home all right. Hmm, must be tired, that almost made sense.

Thanks Marc, can't sleep so I might as well be here. Good time for a surprise inspection.

Well thank God you tried! Your doctor probably hasn't slept in days since he told you not to go back to work. Poor guy has been worried sick he was wrong.

I say we need a little more 'ceremony' when closing the thread each week. Especially after such an in-depth and entertaining one as last weeks!

That's kinda redundant. Wouldn't ALL of your visitors be from out of town?

Morning all.

Today is Sunday, August 22nd.

On this day in 1775 - The American colonies were proclaimed to be in a state of open rebellion by England's King George III.

1846 - The U.S. annexed New Mexico.

1902 - In Hartford, CT, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt became the first president of the United States to ride in an automobile.

1941 - **** troops reached the outskirts of Leningrad during World War II.

1973 - Henry Kissinger was named Secretary of State by U.S. President Nixon. Kissinger won the Nobel Peace Prize in the same year.

1984 - The last Volkswagen Rabbit rolled off the assembly line in New Stanton, PA.

1986 - Kerr-McGee Corp. agreed to pay the estate of the late Karen Silkwood $1.38 million to settle a 10-year-old nuclear contamination lawsuit.

1990 - U.S. President H.W. Bush signed an order for calling reservists to aid in the build up of troops in the Persian Gulf.

1990 - The U.S. State Department announced that the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait would not be closed under President Saddam Hussein's demand.

1996 - U.S. President Clinton signed legislation that ended guaranteed cash payments to the poor and demanded work from recipients. (whatever happened to this program???)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Were Mary and Joseph's surname Christ before Jesus was born?

The cffee is still here that Marc made... there's something stringy in it.

I think it was Heidi's new cat's hair. It has that stringy, mangy greasy texture to it if you get one in your mouth.

I hope I don't need shots now.... it's the little, "curly" hairs that I REALLY worry about.

Brought Kailey in today. The folks' have their trailer (RV, not mobile home) over at the North Muskegon State Park this week. My sister and brothers should be there today. Gotta slide over there when I get out of work, then off the next couple of days.

lucky I have my instant hazelnut coffee this morning, and a fresh baked cinnamon roll. going to the fair today, it is pouring rain right now.

my orange kitty has been at her post on the porch at night, no hunting. Siberian dog taught her well. we had footprints and a knock at the cat door last night after supper. .22 rifle at both ends of the house.

fighting wicked infection, hospital did nothing for that. guess they figured I could handle it.an IV of hydrogen peroxide would be nice about now.

hence, off to the fair (oldest? one in America but have to check)

ok fellas- bacon, fried potatoes with peppers and onions, sausage, pancakes with home made maple syrup, french toast for chaikwa, rabid coffee for those who need it. Giving CIN the day off to rest....

Scotty, only you could shuffle sidewalk blocks you Canuck you! rest!
