When my youngest son was looking at colleges back in 99, they were at his school for open house along with 30 other colleges. They sounded pretty good but he opted for North Western in Lima Ohio, and also won the Ford AAA contest and got a scollarship to help out. He took the auto HiPo program, but they also have a good diesel/ag program too. Also check with your own school to find out when their carreer days are and go then to talk with the soliciters to send a rep out to talk with you and your son at your home. Good luck on your choices.

I think Lincoln tech is where my grand daughter is going in the fall. She is headed for diesel stuff. I convinced her that diesel is actually perfume. Now she says it kinds grows on ya.

There is also a big diesel college in Nashville. It's just down the road from Opra Land.

Nashville was his original choice, but those people are a pain to deal with. I couldn't even get them to mail me any basic information. You had to visit the school to get anything. Thats a six hour each way to drive for me and it sounded to much like one of those condo deals that sucker you in with a free stay.

Im goin to UNO in lima. But my buddy is going to lincoln tech and he wishes he would have waited a year and gone with me. He says he hasnt really learned anything there. Back to UNO I really liked their setup and the classes are pretty small so there is a lot of one on one time with the professor.

I have a friend that works up the road, that went to Lincon Tech. I think he went to a 2yr course on auto mech-not impressed. A couple of his class buddies arn't able to get employed at dealers either, in fact non of them were impressed with their schooling. I was shocked on how much their tution was. Don't know if it is just around here, but I think too many people have watched late night tv adds. I hate to say this but some of the best tech schools in the world are with our armed forces. Something to consider, good pay, best training, being able to mature and excell. Only downfall is you have to serve your country-who knows you mnight have your foot in the door doing what you want to do!

i went to lincoln tech for air condition classes 10 plus years ago. i went for 3 months and dropped out. none of it was self paced, i had to stay in classes that were nothing more than a total waste of time to me. and it was very expensive. i would suggest you keep looking, they are in the business to make lots of money, not education.

For anyone knowing anyone looking at Lincoln Tech, I just can't find anything good about this school. I have talked to past grads, current students and even some large diesel shops that wouldn't employ them based on that school. I make no personal judgements here, but to anyone going there, good luck!!!
