leaf spring and winch solenoid
leaf spring and winch solenoid
went wheelin this past weekend and seemed to once again destroy part of my jeep in a matter of moments.

long story short i smoked the solenoid on my warn m8000 winch, severly bent my front left rancho 2.5" leaf spring, and sheered off a transmission mount amongst some other minor damage (mainly to my pride)

my question is does anyone know where i could get a new solenoid and leaf spring, i think i could the solenoid from warn but the leaf spring is what troubles me, i really dont wanna have to be 2 or 4 when only 1 of them is broken

thanks for any/all advice
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

If you can't get what you want any good spring shop should be able to copy and make one for you.

You might send rancho an e-mail, They may sell you a single spring through a local dealer. Also National spring can pretty much duplicate anything.
I have replaced my solenoid a couple of times now, wasn't much to it.
Try this address for a parts catalog, then find a local dealer.

BTW: 4 bangers rule!

I've spanked lots of high $$, high horsepower engines by having the right gear and using both brain cells
. Course, I don't do any mud bogging or desert racing, just a bit of rock and trail crawling.

THere is a place in kansas that will make any spring pack. Do a search on the net for spring manufacturers in Kansas and there is only one. They made springs for me. Coil and leaf.

YJ springs all settle. If yours are older and have been put through thier paces I would just replace them as a pair. Also, if you are running factory shackles, take a look at them. They tend to crack and since you tweaked the spring I would give them a look. Not to pry but where did you wheel? I am always looking for a new place to explore. Especially since I am migrating to NOVA. As for the winch parts just give warn a call. They once sent me a brand new motor for my 9000i simply because I asked for the paint code (my paint was peeling). I asked about returning the old motor and they said just keep it as a spare. I could not believe the service.

Tim
