Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia ? I have never seen it rain on TV, how do the plants grow? ( UK ).

A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them die.

That really is funny - - - and highly amusing having been there. I am asked many questions, some as silly as these, when people learn I was there. The favorite and quite common one is "did you see kangaroos in the cities there?" My normal response is "I will tell you all about the kangaroos in Melbourne downtown after you tell me about the buffalo in Times Square." Most people have very little knowledge of that great country - - really neat place and the people are very proud of their heritage and intend to keep it as it is, unlike what is happening in our country..............

Ironically you are right. The Alaskans are very friendly people and assume you have been lots of places because you are "way up there." I was asked several times up there if I had been in Austrailia, and everytime they asked about the kangaroos. Now, notice I did not say anything like "tell me about the moose in downtown Anchorage." Are you still pushing around 1000 moose in the city limits?

Yes I lived in Port Headland for three and a half years even had a roo for a pet, and yes it rains for three weeks once a year and that's it!
