I believe that ads are based on browsing preferences, not sure we even see all the same ones as the are generated by google I beleive. I could be wrong.

You are seeing Google run banner ads that are content determined by your browsing habits. Perhaps you visited a political page or something and Google doesn't know you are not a bleeding heart Liberal/Dimowit.......

We on the other hand know you are not

 

I'm telling you guys...Firefox and Adblock Plus mean I don't see ANY ads, on ANY sites unless they're part of that particular page. Speeds up page load times and Bill Gates doesn't get to tell me how I should use Al Gore's greatest invention.

 

Same here! I love the adblock plus with FF. I see nothing extra.

 

Adblock for the win. Much more enjoyable surfing this an other forums without the banner ads.

Thanks for posting! I'd never heard of Adblock Plus so I downloaded it
right away. My latest pet peeve has been when I do a google search
for something, like work boots and then when I go to another website
there is an ad on the side of the page for work boots.
I just don't like the idea of being tracked.
I also switched from google to startpage.

Yah I saw one the other day and almost threw up and canceled my member ship. Oh well a great site just have to deal with IB source of income.

 

I run Chrome as my browser and have never had problems with pop-ups on this site.

I thought I was gonna have to find a new dodge page there for a second!!!
