It's 104 as of 4:30 pm here in Coffeyville, KS.

Houston About 100 or so. Heat index about 110 Wheeew

It was so hot today that a playground started burning or something like that was on the news.

That was in Arlington, TX. They say the wood chips in the playground spontaneously combusted. Now thats hot.

Here it's 93, but feels much hotter. Especially in a fire truck with an air conditioner that SUX!!!

Ed, we're only at 102 now according to the NWS... bu tthe index is still at 106....down from 111 a few hours ago..

A few years ago, in the middle east somewhere,, it was officially 138 web bulb measurement in the shade. And that was with 90% humidity

On the flightline, the phone I had issued also had a simple thermometer on it. Now I'm not saying that thermometer was accurate, but when I stuck it outside the truck for a few minutes and pulled it in, it read 180*

Then the wind changed, came in from the desert and blew out the humidity and the temp shot up to 145*. It was a lot like sticking your face in front of a blow torch...

No wonder those people are so darned angry all the time.

Here in Paradise it is 74 degrees with a humidity of 45%. Most days are about the same.

I'm five miles from the Pacific Ocean which is 73* right now. Air temp is 79* on my front porch. It's been unusually cool along the coast here this year. Inland is another story.
