They are such a nuisance! In Hawaii I could not get rid of them and was always trying to keep the population down.
We had a "gecko whammer". It was a rolled up grass beach mat with some duct tape around it.
They are so fast and so wily. But they were nothing compared to the cane spiders for giving someone a start. Yeaow!

Have one running loose in the house. Not a big deal, don't mind 'em, they eat the bugs. The wife loves them (as she does all animals). In fact she has even named it and declared it as our pet. I however, would prefer if "Gecky" lived outside where he would have a much better diet of bugs to chose from. Those little buggers are fast, how do you catch 'em?

Let little Felix acquire the target, sit back and watch the hunt...
Just wait until the cat has it subdued and quickly rescue Mr. Geico from Felix and toss the little bugger outside by the front porch light(toss the gecko too).
Wash your hands... Those gecko's carry salmonella... Really!
I know all too well...

How about putting an onion bag over the hose of a shop vac? If you need to lure him out. Leave a small light on in a corner somewhere. He might show up to look for bugs attracted by the light.

Good thing you dont keep a cow in the garage.
hotdram: Is the gecko bugging you because of its chirping or do you just not like it staring at you late at night waiting to attack when you fall asleep and ripping you apart with its fangs and claws.

Could be worse. Could be a bunch of hungry teenagers.

Is this the little guy you have? or is it one of his slightly more distant relatives?

(EDIT: pic wouldn't post, but follow the link to Gecky's pic)
These guys are our gecko species down here in STX.
They live in the gaps of our siding and fascia boards and come out at night to feed around our porch lights.
The ones we see inside are usually very small juveniles newly hatched and must have taken the wrong exit from the hatchery in the walls.

There is no G. There is no G. Repeat after me, THERE IS NO G!
Leave your socks by the door. Seriously. I left a pair of socks by the patio door one evening and a little guy crawled in there overnight. I found him the next morning when I was picking up. Since then, before I slip my shoes on I make sure to tap out each shoe on the floor one in case one of them crawled in there. I'd hate to squish one.
