Hookin chains with a buddy in the grass!!!

Well guys, just like the title states, this afternoon i hooked chains with a buddy of mine in his back yard. He has a late 70s F250 ford with a pretty modded up 460 BBF. He has aftermarket cam, heads, intake, carb, ignition etc. I personally have NO idea how to pull with my 6 spd against anyone and he had a HUGE advantage over me being a built auto so he got me on almost every start, if anyone has suggestions on how i can better my pulling with other trucks let me know as i felt like i could have done MUCH better. Anyway, i have about 4 videos, the first one was in normal video mode and after that my buddy accidentally switched it to compact video mode so the last 3 videos will be fairly grainy but youll get the idea.

Heres the videos, in order

Let me know what you think and PLEASE give me input on how i can better myself next time i hook up to anyone!!!

I think you need to be pulling with both wheels on the rear. Looks like a rebuild is in your future. Glad to see you whip the Drof anyway.

As soon as you start spinning tires...You are done!

Do what ever you gotta do to stop it...and you will win.

There are too many variables to even consider this a contest, from tires to weight, surface condition etc etc , looks to me like the ford might have even had a small downhill advantage.

As you can see in the video , neither truck walked away with the other, the dodge is obviously heavier, the ford was digging holes in the ground, the dodge was sitting on top of the grass spinning. It doesn't even matter when one guy lets off, the trucks stay in the same position...

As soon as you start spinnin, you have lost. He had bigger tires than you... is his truck higher? That's a lot of advantage, too.

Hold the brakes till he spins, then ease out on the clutch... I would not do that too many times on a stock clutch...

not sure about tire size or truck/suspension height. i do not plan on doing it again at all until i have a better clutch and make sure my driveline is tight/new front to rear.

Hooking your end of the chain as high as possible will give you more weight transfer to the rear ...... will even unload his some if he's hooked lower than you are.
