Hi I'm dodgeguy and I'm a redneck(dressing up engine compartment)

So after I painted my parts as some may have seen over in the 2nd gen performance arena I had it back at the dealer. Then my oil leak friday night and saturday using brake cleaner on the timing cover to make my temporary repair. Well some of the brake clean got on my week old high temp paint on my aftercooler tube and when I went to wipe it off the paint came with it.

Soooooooooooo, since I have to remove the stuff on the front of the engine this week to replace the timing cover I started by pulling off my inlet and outlet tubes. I bought another can of the high heat(1200) paint and cleaned off the tubes, fab'd up some coat hangers, taped off the part where the hoses go and painted them both.

This time however I did something a bit different. After letting the paint dry for about 15 minutes I peeled off the tape(so I could have a good place to grip the tubes) and carried the short one upstairs to my awaiting preheated over, set on the warm setting. Both racks removed I placed the first one(short) in there for 30 minutes to bake. I went downstairs and found the driver side tube was to long and fab'd up some more coat hangers(free with my work uniforms) to make coat hanger stands for the long tube. After the 30 minutes I removed the short tube and put in 1 rack in the middle and then my homemade stands and layed the long tube in there for 30 minutes. After letting both of them cool I tested them and the paint seems A LOT harder than my previous attempt.

I had to bribe my three kids, since mom is gone and told them this is something she does not need to know. Maybe this is good information, maybe not.

Bribing children is about as good as making a pact with the devil...........it's all good until they change their little minds. One day in the not to distant future someone will spill the beans and that's all you'll get for the duration of your sentence, beans and water.
